ABOUT STARSOFT AND THE SHOW:
? In the last 20 years I traveled the country competing in counter-strike with teams I built, I ran massive online communities with thousands of members in a number of FPS, RTS, and MMO style games. I skipped recess in the 4th grade to play video games on an Apple 2e. My goal with the STARSOFT stream is to share the experience in the PC video game world with you all. This does mean you’ll see the fun, ugly, boring, and exhilarating moments. I make every effort possible to minimize the chance that the stream distorts the process, while still involving you the viewers on a number of levels. I highlight some of the exhilarating moments into videos on my Facebook page so please check them out!

MORE ABOUT THE STREAM:
? I have written biometric systems for the stream, you can see my heart rate in real time, this often will show you, that what you are seeing on the stream is not simply an act.
The biometric graph shows my body is physically responding to perform at the level you see on the stream. The line changes color depending on high, medium, or low heart rate, the line represents the last 15minutes. The PIE chart records every heart rate reading for the entirety of the stream and compares them proportionately!
? Wheel-o-fun Activated! Just when you thought you knew what we were going to do next, the wheel-o-fun tells us to do something new and exciting! Just come onto the stream and ask me to “Spin the wheel-o-fun!”
? PING graph! often you watch a streamer and you see something weird happen in game, and you wonder if the streamer was lagging or the game they are playing had an issue.
The blue bar on the UI in the stream is a real time ping reading to various internet backbones, if you see the line spike up and/or change color you know that my connection was bad for a brief second. I often use this to determine if i simply lagged or if an opponent is actively cheating with a lag switch or teleport.
? Chat to ears! When you type I hear you, I have developed custom systems that allow me to audibly hear the Facebook chat, each of you get your own custom voice that persists between streams! Thanks to this feature, when I am ultra focused on an overwhelmingly intense moment in game, I will often respond!
⌨️ Real-Time Input display! I know we’ve all seen those streamers with a second camera pointing down at their mouse and keyboard. I really like this idea but I wanted to find a way to accomplish this in a more efficient manner. I developed a system that now allows you to see both ?️ mouse and keyboard input right on screen in real time as I push each button. Additionally I’ve added a counter next to each input display so you can see how many times we’ve pushed each button, hard to believe some streams these little keys get pushed over 10,000 times! You can see the keys displayed in the upper left corner of the camera overlay box!
?️ Eye Tracker! We’ve been trying it and we think it has earned its spot in the gadget line up! You can now see exactly what on screen I am looking at. The eye tracker will help you follow the action by seeing what my current focus is on. You can see how I scan for enemies which changes depending on the various terrain scenarios in game! We are using a tobii eye tracker 4c (we had to make a custom mount with some folded sheet metal and 3m command strips! Now it works awesome!)
? What game is this? On Facebook many people ask what game we are currently playing? l publish the game name when I “go live”, it turns out there are many ways to view a video, and unfortunately only some! Show what game we are playing. So I am now publishing the name of the game we are currently playing near the camera!
? Games don’t last forever, these games are like a story being told, imagine if books disappeared after so many years never to be read again? and oftentimes I am a little too loyal and/or stubborn, I stick with games in hopes they will correct their problems, sometimes the fun level of the stream does suffer when games are headed in a counter productive direction. I thank you in advance for understanding and patience during game content transitions.
